"Largest radical group in America"

that's comical

Again, what is the comedy?

Can you name a larger group specifically founded to accomplish an overthrow of American governmental institutions and a supplanting of American Constitutional rights?

ACORN was founded and developed by radical organizers George Wiley (National Welfare Rights Organization) and Wade Radke (Students For A Democratic Society (SDS) specifically as an implementation of the Cloward-Pliven strategy to destroy capitalism, accomplish redistributionism and substitute centralized government for all forms of private enterprise.

(Gee, sounds a lot like the Obama agenda when I put it like that!)

the first article you linked from Newsmax had one sentence that read:

"Election officials in several states have said that 50 percent of ACORN voter registrations are fictitious."

with no facts in the article to back that up.

Can you find me another Newsmax article that details that claim? Maybe National Review opinion piece perhaps?

I'm interested in that claim. And the first article you linked (http://newsmax.com/Headline/acorn-voter-fraud/2008/10/13/id/325897) does not provide enough detail. Just claims.

Is it a bogus claim?

In the face of the number of indictments and convictions of ACORN staff and management, why would you think it is a bogus claim? Are you, like UberNoonan, dead set on killing the messenger while totally ignoring the facts?

The story was written by Ken Timmerman, a well respected author and investigative journalist. The link to Newsmax, where he is a contributing editor, is referencing Timmerman's investigative reporting.

I have had the privilege of sitting in on a number of Ken's presentations and back and forth discussions (he lives in MD when he is not on overseas assignments and has spoken a number of times at the National Press Club in DC.) He is a standup guy, but likely not your cup o' tea.

Perhaps two of the most comprehensive reviews with documentation and the specific references you might spend your time "fact checking" come from the recent Congressional investigations into ACORN -

Maybe you could read the actual legal indictments being made against ACORN for voter fraud in Wisconsin, the topic of this thread?

It is late and I don't want to spend any more of my own effort on this tonight. Why don't you learn to do some in-depth research and read the primary sources yourself next time?

you strike me as someone that loves to hear their own voice.

I didn't post an article without facts, you did. Why would any respected "journalist" write an article filled with a bunch of claims without facts? like your journalist did? and now I'm supposed to be the responsible party and go and fact check a respected "journalists" work? hell no I'm not getting paid for that. I already googled "Acorn 50% fraud" and found that rotten Acorn website, where apparently someone felt it was important enough to link everything that ACORN has been accused of....minus the original claim that peaked my interest by the way....

And so now you send an avalanche of links our way...thanks I guess. Is that supposed to show me that you have done your investigative analysis? something tells me that if you REALLY would have done your investigative analysis you would't have originally linked an article without in the facts in the first place! :)

This could have been avoided if the first link you provided had any FACTS in it.
Maybe you can tell your journalist that the next time you see him.
lesson learned by all I hopefully. Thanks for the new links.

edit: and I would have been grateful for the "primary sources" if your original article had linked any...which it didn't.

Gee, Orbyte, don't have a coronary just because I follow up with links to more information than you have ever bothered to provide yourself in the entirety of your participation here.

I find it interesting that both you and your UberNeuman doppelgänger bot post constantly but never provide more than baseless and unsupported criticism of everyone else's efforts.

So far as I can see, neither you nor the UBot have ever posted anything of merit whatsoever. Both you and UBot seem to be space wasters building up post counts for a plastic decoder ring (that was discontinued several years ago, btw, or maybe that was a plastic teething ring, I forgot which it was that you most desired.)

It must be a real weird kick for you to squat, a naked emperor rotating on some shaky ivory tower proclaiming that everyone's posts are inadequate and proclaim they provide you with insufficient entertainment value.

Myself, I just don't see the merit in criticism without contribution. Hence, I bow to the seven eggs and the seven dolphins and enter the Circus confident in the outcome.

:awe:
Awwww are we at the ad hominem attack stage already? If you think there is no merit in criticism without contribution, I respond by saying there is no merit in argument without Facts! which is what you and your journalist friend did with that 50% claim so far in that article (with no links to any sources btw)..I haven't been able to dig through all of those links you provided. yet.

As for your links...still attempting to find that 50% fraudulent claim. Its funny, you threw links at me that have nothing but MORE links in the links...is this your way of saying you've done the "investigative analysis?" :p perhaps you can help me find those facts that were used to support that "50% fraudulent" claim? I feel like a broken record though, because thats what I asked in my first post! :)

At this point I haven't really said that the facts DON'T exist...I'm still looking hoping to find it. But you can continue with the ad hominem, don't let my good faith attempt at finding the facts for you...get in your way :)

Something that I find interesting...you harp on me and UberN when I ask for facts to back up a claim...like that is something that is OHHH so taboo! Heaven forbid, people backup their bullshit with facts.

Why so much bitterness, Orby?

Start clicking through on the links provided for a start.

Read slowly for maximum comprehension.

Then follow through on the references the authors provide.

It's so simple a caveman can do it.

BTW, this isn't one of your high school classes. People here don't have to follow the same rules your teachers are marking you down for.

:awe:
what rules would those be? providing facts for claims? not resorting to fallacious arguments (ad hominem attacks)? Or how about....answer a question directly when asked directly?

All things you seem to have trouble doing. Wax eloquent all you like about random things that "interest" you...when you boil your rhetoric down to the nittygritty...its empty. All opinions and baseless claims. I still find you entertaining to read though! so gold star for you there!! :)

I would think that if you want anyone to take you seriously, whether you are a journalist, or just someone full of hot air on a message board, that making claims/arguments would require facts...don't need a high school teacher to tell you that. I think that's taught by mommy and daddy...waaaay back when mommy or daddy told you its not OK to lie

:)

I see you aren't ready to share your facts on that claim you asserted in your posts. Or could it be? there are no facts to support that claim?

maybe you should edit your post then?

Man this ACORN voter fraud conspiracy thing is retarded. It's a really simple organization.

ACORN hires a bunch of minimum wage workers who really don't give a shit about overthrowing the gov't or whatever the right wing thinks they're doing. They get tasked with signing up new voters. But again they really don't give a shit so some of them fill in fake names instead of actually signing up new voters.

The folks back at ACORN see these fake names but are required by fucking law to hand them in to the registrar anyway, so they do with a post-it note saying we think these are fake but are required by fucking law to give them to you.

This law is actually meant to protect people from having their registrations thrown out by opposing groups.. no registrations can be tossed fake or not.

No one ever votes with these fake names because they're just Mickey Mouse shit written down on a piece of paper that get tossed at the registrar's office.. there's no story here.

You're right except one thing - there is a story, the story of the Republicans putting politics ahead of truth and democracy to mislead people and oppose registering the poor.

One of the greatest reasons we have democracy is to spread power not just among the richa and few but to give a fair share to the poor. The Republicans combat this.

your 50% fraud claim is bogus. A lie.

Once upon a time a Letter was written to ACORN from the Virginia State Board of Elections claiming that 56% of the registration applications ACORN turned in were "ineligible"

That is not to say fraudulent.

And that is the closest match I could find. Now understand, that is only a Letter, not a court finding. And, that is only for the State of Virginia, not across America, as you and your journalist friend insinuate.

And unlike you and your "respected" journalist, I will give you my source;

Wow, OrBy, you are really working your way toward a heart attack! Better read that sig you use again and consider nothing on this board is worth going into an apoplectic fit over.

I post lots of great information from many sources and claims of debunking any of them seem to be a matter of opinion here rather than any having any semblance to fact.

According to your arbitrary, and frankly amusing, standard for participation in this discussion I first need to verify that the sources (like the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Oversight and Government Reform) are correct. Like I am going to spend my time being a proofreader and fact checker for you?

ROTFLMAO! :awe::awe::awe:

Tell you what, you mow my lawn once a week and I will proofread for you. How's that for a deal, clown?

Like I said before, I suggest you take a look at the document links I made as they are the most comprehensive I myself have read. If you care to delve deeper into a topic, please do!

BTW, I went out for dinner and drinks with some of my journalist friends this evening and they had a great laugh as I described the hyperventilation going on here! I have not had a chance to talk to Ken Timmerman in a while, but if you want to challenge his writing why don't you get in touch with him AND his bosses directly -

And while you are at it, why don't you contact Darrel Issa as well?

I suspect everyone else also noticed the way PJibberJabber simply refuses to address any factual challenges to his wing-nut propaganda. Instead he responds with evasion, gratuitous personal attacks, and, of course, endless boring, self-aggrandizing puffery. All noise, virtually no content, and nary a trace of original thought.

I am sure you and your journalist elite have plenty of laughs at our expense. You tell a good tale! I'd love to hear the stories you tell your friends, very entertaining I'm sure, just not very honest.

So as for the rest of your response:

more worthless links....check

nothing of substance..... check.

thanks for playing. you are 4 for 4 on my scorecard! You've reached the pinnacle for wingnut status. congrats.
