I'm kind of skeptical of a site that has an ad listing McCain's IQ as 138 as being legit. ;)

I'm also kind of skeptical of police doing a raid when no one is there. It makes it hard to distinguish what was actually taken from ACORN's office and what just might have appeared from thin air. This wasn't some drug raid where there was a risk of violence. It should have been done when ACORN officials were there and were able to challenge the validity of the warrant.

That said, any evidence that was legally gathered that proves that intentional fraud was committed should be punished by the courts.

Don't be too skeptical. Being under the gun for voter fraud is nothing new for this group if you haven't heard.

I know the story is legit....just taking a jab at their advert for some stupid internet IQ test claiming McCain's IQ to be 138. I honestly don't think he is anywhere near that. I would speculate that he is in the mid 120's at most. But that is clearly just my opinion and I have no hard evidence of it.

Also, the police rarely raid offices in the middle of the night or early mornings from my understanding. That is usually left to times where there is a perceived chance of danger.

I know of ACORN's past allegations. From my recollection, there haven't really been any charges that have stuck though. Maybe you can correct me on that.

the first is ACORN's settlement, the second is about the convictions.

Those look like the same story but it is verification none the less. Thanks.

The OP's link is down. ElFenix's AP link says only that they raided the place with a warrant. No arrests. The article says:

Nevada state authorities are raiding the Las Vegas headquarters of an organization that works to get low-income people to vote.

A Nevada secretary of state's office spokesman said Tuesday that investigators are looking for evidence of voter fraud at the office of the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now, also called ACORN.

No one was at the ACORN office when state agents arrived with a search warrant and began carting records and documents away.

Secretary of State spokesman Bob Walsh says ACORN is accused of submitting multiple voter registrations with false and duplicate names.

The raid comes two months after state and federal authorities formed a task force to pursue election-fraud allegations in Nevada.

If you're talking about his other three links, they're from 2006 and 2007.

The raids and accusations raise questions about ACORN. The question is, regardless of what they've done, how is it tied to Obama?

Obama's Fight The Smears site denies the link.

Barack Obama Never Organized with ACORN

Discredited Republican voter-suppression guru Ken Blackwell is attacking Barack Obama with naked lies about his supposed connection to ACORN.
  • Fact: Barack was never an ACORN community organizer.
  • Fact: Barack was never an ACORN trainer and never worked for ACORN in any other capacity.
  • Fact: ACORN was not part of Project Vote, the successful voter registration drive Barack ran in 1992.
In his capacity as an attorney, Barack represented ACORN in a successful lawsuit alongside the U.S. Department of Justice against the state of Illinois to force state compliance with a federal voting access law. For his work helping enforce the law, called ?Motor Voter,? Barack received the IVI-IPO Legal Eagle Award in 1995.

Ken Blackwell is best known today for disenfranchising Democratic voters in his dual role as Ohio Secretary of State and chair of George Bush?s Ohio campaign in 2004. To see him shed crocodile tears for the integrity of the vote while making accusations about Barack and ACORN with absolutely no basis in fact is disturbing.

Blackwell?s attacks against ACORN and community organizers continue a vile Republican pattern of mockery and viciousness against this noble profession. Community organizers are the very individuals Republicans should be celebrating for helping people to help themselves rather than depending on the government.

You can find posts and reposts of ALLEGATIONS of an improper connection from ultra right wing sources like Bill Krystol's National Review and brainless twits like Michelle Malkin. If you've got anything from credible sources with verifiable facts, post it on up.[/quote]

well, it wasn't in this thread until you brought it up.

bottom line is that suspicious activity relating to ACORN happens too often to just be a few bad apples. it may be innocent zealousness, it may be intentional malfeasance.

Obama associated with Acorn "gasp", it's a good thing that you can't judge a man by his associations.

ACORN is a criminal organization with many convictions for voter fraud and needs to be broken up with RICO statues etc. They were also cheating in Michigan.

"The Michigan branch of Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN), located in Detroit, is being investigated after several municipal clerks reported fraudulent and duplicate voter registration applications coming through."

Michigan Branch Of ACORN Putting Through Sizable, Duplicate, Fraudulent Voter Apps

The Democrats should never have been doing business with ACORN to get mortgages to illegals. This kind of fraud is what helped bring the subprime market down (which the Dems enjoyed) and the Dems and Obama are at the center of the meltdown.

Undocumented residents being recruited for loans

?There is a huge untapped market out there, but it is a controversial program,? said Sarah Lumbert, office director of San Diego's ACORN Housing Corp., part of a national group working with Citibank to provide tax-ID loans.

"ACORN members, advocates on housing issues for low-and moderate-income people and Citibank have quietly recruited applicants in the county for more than a year. Their program has ramped up slowly because applicants need to establish credit and hunt for an affordable home. "

ACORN is part of the Marxist takeover of the Dem party along with MoveOn, Soros groups etc.

Of course not. When people say things such as "Oh this is because of the administration" they do not mean that good ol George Bush himself called up the Nevada police and said "go raid this place please, kthx".

The more likely scenario is some neo-con in a think tank that the administration fund to help with the election somewhere figured out how to hurt ACORN and manipulated some innocent individual playing it off as a career move to expose this corruption and bastardization of our society!

In the end it is just politics, though dirty politics. This is the true dirty politics, not some add telling us McCain cannot use a computer.

You should have access to google the same as I do....

In October 2007 three employees of ACORN pleaded guilty resulting from these criminal charges

There are many more, just search a little.

I'm pretty sure that ACORN is tied to Ayres, which is tied to Rezco, which is tied to Michelle who wears a burka while rocking back and forth from reading the Koran! Connect the dots, people!
