post here if the serial numbers on your drive voids the warranty. i'm hoping acomdata just uses standard oem drive.s as they dont manufacture the drive anyway.
i ripped open one of the hitachi brand external ones before (granted it was a hitachi external drive with hitachi drive inside), and the drive died later and i ended up having my warranty voided.

Not sure what you mean, I took it apart and it's a WD green drive with a serial number on it. Could I check if it voided the warranty?

sometiems they used some specia OEM serial number that cant be warrantied or something like that (thats how the hitachi brand ones are). did you have to break a seal to open it?
