Acne question

They showed the kids getting horrible acne after they became addicted to gaming. Is there any causality between sitting in front of the computer too much and getting acne? Or is it that geeks don't wash so they get acne? Or that they don't get enough sun? Lack of physical activity? Or maybe there is not correlation, and they were just playing off the stereotype? What is it?

Probably a little bit of all of the above.

Oil on your skin is what it likes so showering and being outside in the sun would help avoid acne

edit: like the first response, it's probably a combination of everything you listed

That and eating sugary, greasy foods.

I think what they were going for was a lack of exercise and an abundance of junk foods (besides the stereotypical protrayal.) In Cartmans basement, their desks were covered with empty ramen containers, pizza boxes, burger wrappers, etc.

Sunlight doesn't really have much of an effect on acne as far as I know, and neither do computer monitors.

actually, contrary to the popular belief, oily/greasy/fried foods do not cause acne unless you rub them all over your face.

Not true at all. I believe first hand experience more than what someone tries to tell me in some new theory.

If I eat anything greasy it goes right through system and to my face. I dont have to touch anything on my face. I can't even eat cheese at all anymore. And forget pizza. You can argue it till you are blue in the face but I see the effects first hand.

Some people get acne no matter how healthy or clean their face is. But having greasy face, eating greasy foods and having bad hygene affects your face to a certain point. The best thing NOT to do is pop those white heads as much as they bother you. They do leave scars for a long time SO DONT POP THEM!

I heard Vitamin K cream helps scarring but I havent tried it so I dont know.

Sunlight dries the skin which will help dry up some of the oil on your sking kindof like how putting that pink stuff on poison ivy clears it up. Or at least thats what i've always thought

I've spent tons of time in front of my computer and I escaped puberty with a total of no more than 10 pimples.

Yeah, I know you all hate me.

I have to agree here, when I was a teenager I experienced first hand the effects of diet on acne.

Aren't you just more prone to acne when you're a teenager?

Food causes acne, and the world is flat.
