ACLU files challenge to DMCA

dmca needs to die. the only reason we tolerate copyright laws the way they are is that minor violations are not enforced, just like speed limits. i don't think society is for the law the way it is.
 
You won't see anyone coming in here complaining about the ACLU on this one. This will be a very hard fight for the ACLU as the people backing the DMCA have a hell of a lot more resources.

You're right, they will be eating their foot in shame over all the posts they make decrying them as a worthless organization that only defends pedophiles. :disgust:

In any case, I certainly hope they prevail in this case. Indeed they will have a long road ahead of them, and I hope the case they chose is the right one to fight this battle with.
 
The ACLU although may not have the $$$ that some of the thinktanks have, they do have almost an unlimited intellectual resources. Lawyers who work for the ACLU are very dedicated lawyers.
