I just recently upgraded from an Athlon Classic 750 to a Tbird 1.2ghz. I'm running a GeForce2GTS, both before and after the upgrade. After my 1.2ghz was setup on a KT7-Raid, I've noticed very, very lacking performance. My FPS in Half-Life went from 75-90 to 50-60. I'm getting very frusturated :(. Anything you guys can reccomend before I sell this stuff?
System Specs: (Note that the only thing that changed with the upgrade is the mobo and the cpu)
AMD Thunderbird 1.2ghz (NOT overclocked)
Abit KT7-Raid
512 MB PC100 RAM
Creative GeForce2 GTS
Netgear FA311 10/100 NIC

Have you installed the VIA 4-in-1 drivers?

Are you using the raid controller?

What OS are you running?

Etc. etc. etc.

Sorry about the lack of info, first post :p.

I'm not running the 4-in-1 drivers, should I?

Not using the raid controller.

Using Windows 98SE, and no, I didn't reinstall it.

Try and help me, I'm desperate!

Thanks.

You HAVE to install the VIA 4-in-1 drivers, they can be found here.

You don't have to install windows, it might work fine. Then again it might not!
I would also re-install the drivers for your geforce2, after installing the 4-in-1 drivers.

BAH!!!!!!!! More crap!
Now the goddamn thing is crashing, in any mode (d3d or ogl). It'll run any game for a minute or so, then it crashes like a son of a bitch!
I am using the factory drivers for my GF2 GTS, and since I installed those 4-in-1 drivers, I'm crashing like a bastard!
What in the world should I do now?

I think chuckieland is wrong, use the right drivers for the job.

And, if it comes down to it (formatting..), delete the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> Enum key in the registry first to re-install all of your drivers. I do that with motherboard changes sometimes. No need to FFR.

Also, i've heard some people having trouble with agp4x, the geforce2, and the kt133 chipset. Try disabling agp4x in the bios, it won't hurt your performance much.
