Sorry normally i wouldnt post something like this.
But I really think i pulled the impossible.
780i is not the best board to be overclocking a yorkfield on.
470FSB on a 780i is considered WOW.

Also please take NOTE, i am not using XS Voltage or Uber Chip Killing Voltage.

Im thinkn freya is now GREATER then persephone. :T

Also im thinkn FSB is more dependant on CPU now on yorkfield.

mmm... maybe i should lend the chip out to a friend who has a dual cascade phase unit to slap it on.

Ahhh... if you guys want any more settings i did, feel free to ask.

FSB Term was set at 1.4V <--- so it shows you DONT need to max this puppy out.
CPU Bios Voltage was set at 1.375 I did pencil mod, Vcore = 1.35-1.36
MCP was set at 1.525 i think. I need to go back to check.
Ram: I used my Crucial Tracers DDR2 1066
Cooling: Thermalright IFX-14
Memory is set at unlinked.

Setup:

First off, congrats and well done. Also considering the source to whom has done the work

I am curious as I am not very familier with the 780i, as to why it isn't the best board to overclock a Yorkie. 470fsb on most boards is getting up there right?

Along with overclocking skill I'm thinking you got your hands on a primo board and CPU.

Add those 3 together and you just gotta dance:)

congrats!

i managed to pull a 454 to achieve 3400Mhz on my 9300... i had a screenshot but i scaled it down in photobucket and it f*cked up the image... honestly, i was running 454fsb 3400Mhz stable... when i get that machine back up and running (currently vid card is in 8400) i'll get some screenies :)

Cheers again!

nvidia + high fsb = for the lose.

You go nvidia cuz you need the massive gpu power.

quite honestly i am suprised it went up so high and held.

Had this been my DFI, i probably wouldnt of made such a big deal out of it.

well i kinda feel dumb, because i told everyone its almost impossible to pull off on a 780i without dangerous voltages, yet i pulled it off.

:T

So this thread is more a sock in the face to myself. :T

The whole excitement of this thread incase your lost, is the fact i got 470FSB on 24/7 safe voltages.

Wow aigomorla this is impressive, even for you. Nvidia boards are a pain to OC.

What cpu is this? a 9650?
