Looks like NVIDIA is the king of Socket-A chipsets in performance:) Too bad I'm not giving up Shuttle AK31 Rev 3.1 though :)

If it isnt too expensive. <$170. It might actually be a viable upgrade :) Since it outperforms the SBAudigy in terms of sound. 3Com NIC in terms of Ethernet. KT266A in terms of performance.

Why the F did they do the review in the most conservative memory settings.... doesnt make sense to me...

LOL, I got the email from Brian Neal of Ace's Hardware at 12:25. I was talking to my best friend's sister on IM so I kinda lost track of my other computer functions;) But it hasn't really changed my mind. I mean, all I was looking for was a stable, fast platform for my 1.4GHz Athlon. The ECS board didn't give it to me, but the Shuttle has delivered on all counts. I wouldn't BUY an nForce, but if one landed in my lap, I would gladly remove my Shuttle board and place one in my system :)

No CPU multiplier adjustment
No Memory Voltage adjustment.
Memory timing - CAS adjustment ONLY.

... wtf is MSI up to.

Yeah, I might go nForce, but it won't be from MSI...

Just a question: the tests they ran with 1 DIMM (64bit) represents how an nForce 220 board would perform, right?

The nForce overclocks rather poorly when you plug a separate video card into the AGP slot. I am not sure, but it seems that the integrated video logic compromises the signal integrity of the AGP slot somewhat.

Who's to say if this was a one-off problem that only popped up (or will pop up) in Ace's review? This one fact alone just kills this board for me. What Hardware/Gaming enthusiast wants an MX videocard (or GPU, more precisely) when even a run of the mill GF2 GTS is way better? This board is great for OEMs and that's about it, I'd say. But that's MHO.
