How come if you go to the website it says the video card is 512mb?? it says 256mb is shared and 256mb memory??

ATI Mobility® Radeon? X1600 512 MB HyperMemory? with 256 MB of dedicated GDDR3 VRAM presents stunningly clear graphics for the ultimate visual experience

So is it 512mb or what??????

here is the link to website

Because the GPU only has 256MB of dedicated V-RAM. The other 256MB (to make up the 512 number) comes from the Hyper-Memory (or whatever ATI calls it), where the GPU can use some system RAM in additon to its dedicated V-RAM.

thats pretty cool if i say so myself... I am using it for Business though maybe a little gaming here and there

Also the Ati Radeon Mobility X1600 scores a 4385 in the 3dmark05 but wouldnt that mean that it is better than a normal Nvidia 6800 because the 6800 only scores a 3742 on the 3dmark05...

is it faster then the Dell XPS

The XPS M170 paired with either the 6800 Go Ultra or the 7800 GTX Go will still be faster than the Travelmate 8200, but the travelmate will win out on weight and battery life.

Are you sure that you bought a TravelMate 8200 for that price? Maybe you got a different model instead since the TravelMate 8200 starts off on all the sites I've seen for around $2300.
