I bought a GTX 970 that was unknowingly incompatable to my motherboard. What should I do now? Can I buy another motherboard and switch everything including CPU? Do I need another CPU cooler? And how would I go upon transfering the CPU to the new mobo. Thanks!
I see a PCIe 16x slot there, so it should work. Let me guess, you think it's not compatible because you have a PCie 2.0 slot right? PCIe 3.0 cards work in 2.0 slots just fine.
No idea if you got a Bios update since Sep of 2013 but it does appear his motherboard is incompatible with anything outside of the 600 series from Nvidia.Check out the following link.
Update your Bios if one is available.Computers are funny cause i used to own a Dell XPS400 from 2005 that has been compatible with every gpu from a 3450 to a gtx 970 without fail......
