Acer Aspire 5315 memory upgrade

Wife have just purchased the laptop mentioned in the title and it came with 2x512GB RAM installed...

I would like to upgrade it to 2x1014 instead, but as I have no experience with laptops at all I figured I'd post my concerns/questions here...

As far as I have been able to figure out it uses 200 pin DDR2 PC-5300 RAM, but does that mean I can just purchase RAM of any make and model that has those spec's, or do I really have to purchase original ACER RAM that costs twice as much as Corsair RAM with similar designation/specifications?

I could use some help with this issue... Would hate to buy some RAM, and not be able to use it...

I've never had a problem using aftermarket RAM. Just make sure you can return it, if it doesn't work. Here's a Crucial link for your machine.

You could get two of These for less than $50 if you use google check-out on one, and the rebate on another.

Edit: didn't notice Old Hippie linked to the same thing I have But as long as the memory is DDR2 it will work perfectly fine.
