Acer aspire 3680 screen problem need help plzzz!

Hi all,

I'm having a problem trying do diagnose whats going on with my lcd screen ...i just replaced the inverter ...I also took it off to see if the problem would still exist. even with the inverter off i could still see the lines when i put a light against the screen...any help is appreciated...

It's either the LCD panel or the video cable between the motherboard and the LCD panel. I would buy the video cable first and see if that fixes it since it's cheaper than a new LCD panel. I suppose it could be your graphics card. You also might want to connect it to an external LCD and see if it has the same problem.

Thanx Lanyap for the quick reply....I have hooked up to an external monitor and everything shows fine...so can i rule out lcd and graphics card? so next step should be to test the cable....

That says your graphics card or onboard GPU is ok but your LCD panel is still suspect. Some brands and models had problems with overheating causing chips to come loose form the motherboard. If you had that problem the external monitor would not work right either.

ok, thanx, im going to try and test the cable and make sure its plugged into the mobo not sure how to go about it..but i'll fiddle til i get it..lol...and i will post back if i get it sorted...thanks for the info ...
