Refurb is not necessarily a bad thing. I have a refurb Sony 17", refurb Iiyama 21" and a refurb HP digital camera. The key is who does the refurb and how long is the warranty. The iiyama came with a year from the manufacturer and saved me about $400.

1 year warranty on a refurb is pretty good. The high dot pitch and only 1600x1200 max res at only 65hz makes it not a very useful 21", since thats too low of a refresh to really run it at 1600.

I think my signature says it all. ACER s*cks! That's my .02. Good luck to anyone willing to try it. This is not a bash on Compgeeks as they seem to be fine the few times I've ordered from them. Maybe try getting a new KDS at Computers4sure.com is a better deal. They have a 3 year advanced placement warranty. FYI, you can find a 17" KDS with a new flat screen technology called dot trio at Wal-mart for $177 and a 15" LCD that is very nice for $366. I checked the LCD out at OD and it's a nice find. Good luck.

<< my refurb 22" mitsubishi diamondtron kicks arse. >>

I can't agree more, was gonna eghey it... then realized that its too heavy... now looking pretty on my desk...

btw, try to avoid acer at all cost... not known for realibility. unless its a 21 inch for the price of a 14 inch, i am not jumping on this deal.
