I don't post here much myself, but I'm a close friend of ace's from highschool.

I recently spoke to ace's parents, and they informed me that at least he didn't suffer. he died instantly. The other pedetrian that the same driver hit did not, and is still in critical condition. I understand his outlook is grim. Please keep him and his family in your thoughts as well.

🙁

Grrrrrr.... I don't understand what the heck kind of reasoning possesses people to drive drunk. Anyone with even one iota of common sense, one shred of intelligence, should understand not to get into a car when you're drunk. We've been raised to understand never to drive drunk, from police officers telling us in elementary school to TV commercials to magazine ads to your friends, and somehow this piece of garbage goes out and does it anyway. It absolutely blows my mind.

Objects with that kind of mass moving at 50mph are no fvcking joke, I can't understand why people would ever d&d... Hell, I've never touched an alcoholic beverage in my life as I don't understand the point in general.
Objects that mass with any motion are no joke. Take a tractor trailer, move it at 1mph, with you against a brick wall - it'll probably still crush you.

Aye, even a car going at 20 mph or even 15 mph will seriously ruin someone's day, or life. Zero to 15mph in zero seconds is rediculous.

I just get angrier the more I think about this, especially after seeing Rick's picture and putting a face to a name.

What a senseless end to an innocent life. I am sorry his family has to go through this.

Wow what a total bummer ... hard to believe how often things like this still happen despite all the effort thats gone into making people aware! :disgust: :brokenheart: :|

I didn't know Rich personally either, but interacted with him here many times & I feel like I lost a friend ... RIP 🙁

Wow, sorry to hear that. His last post was in this thread it appears.

Friday morning...he had no idea he'd be dead 36 hours later 🙁

Keep in mind the unexpected...

Spend an extra 5 seconds or so telling your family you love them today. You never know what could await you 36 hours later...

I only read this thread and the threads of ace tonight, but it's obvious this was a guy whom lots will miss and didn't deserve his horribly senseless death. My condolences to his friends and family.

You know I deal with life and death every day.....but this just saddens me...a 3 young lives gone...never to be recovered.

I hope he rests in peace....glad he didnt suffer.

I hope the young man in the hospital is being taking good care of and kept pain free(I work in a trauma hospital so i REALLY hope they keep him comfortable)

As to the drunk driver....I hope the devil has a special place reserved for you.

And I hope you have to live with the memory of the life you destroyed til the moment you die...

RIP Ace, RIP...
