Google is so creepy with it at times though, but at least in a good way. I got on the highway not too long ago and it immediately told me that there was an accident and redid the route. Mind you, I wasn't using navigation.

That is nothing. Google knew that I never looked up the fappening pics, and the DAY my wife gave me her blessing it put some links in my Google now.

Google is my new overlord, I have just learned to accept it.

Yeah, I agreed its in a good way. The way Google thought about this process is definitely pretty smart. They have been collecting information about me since forever, and clearly since 2004 when I got my Gmail account they have been aggregating that information under my account.

The trick is what to do with that information? For the most part Google Now is excellent, but sometimes it gives me unnecessary information. This is the challenge in AI.

For example, I had a 3 month project in LA, and then while I was there I did a bunch of searches for restaurants(over the course of the 3 months). By the time I was leaving though, I ended up getting way too many navigation cards. Heck, I would even get a card telling me how to get to LAX when my flights were out of SNA, with a second card below showing that I have 2 hours til my flight out at SNA.

I think those are minor details, but it wouldn't be too hard to clean up for them in the end. They have the information... just need to figure out how to use it in a useful manner.

I am not impressed with Siri's search capabilities. It works well for setting alarms, making phone calls, and scheduling calendar events and what not, but for actual web searches, I dislike it.

I set Safari to use Google for web searches, but does Siri still use Bing for web searches? I prefer Google to Bing for web searches and I'm wondering if that has anything to do with my assessment of Siri.

Cortana usually works for me just up until the point that I want to show one of my friends how well it works...that little bitch

Cortana is fucking garbage. I've seen it work properly like twice. Usually it's way off.

This. I eventually just turned it off entirely because it's so useless. It rarely understands me properly, and even when it does it gets confused because it's too picky about how exactly you have to phrase things. If you use the wrong word, it has no idea what you're asking and defaults to just doing a voice search.

That said, I almost never use the voice features on any platform, having owned Android and Windows phones and an iPad all recently. I'm usually not in a place where I can or would want to speak to my phone, and typing stuff in manually is faster and more accurate. I don't understand the appeal of these assistants yet; they're so limited.

Surprising results if the tests were truly legit. My experiences have been almost the opposite.
Cortana is by far the best in my experience. Google maybe slightly better then Apple. I have no accent and my 1st language is English so that's probably a plus.. I see people getting upset with Siri at work but it can't really be blamed on the phone, most are English 2nd language.

I've had Google Now understand me perfectly in loud restaurants, to me Now has the best voice recognition.

Not sure about right answers but Google's voice recognition is pretty amazing for me. Siri was not as good at it when I tried.

It still needs input from you. I get many nav cards when I also search places, but I just dismiss them as I see them. I prefer that they be there for me to decide what to do with them, rather than the other way around.

Same, I can have music on and it doesn't miss a beat. Sometimes even my wife is talking to me and it "usually" doesn't throw it off.
