I looked at my direct deposit and it was $700 more than it should have been. I can't believe they make such mistakes, now its hassle working this out with my company.
It would of be nice if they make this mistake every month 🙂 I told them next time u mess up I am keeping my mouth shut.

Any stories along these lines?

It was weird the earnings were correct on my pay stub, but the deposit is 700 more ???

Yeah. At my last job I got paid Base + commission. When I first started I had a high base, low comm. After a few months I switched to low base, high comm but they messed it up and I was getting high base + high comm. I left it go for a couple weeks then checked with them. They thanked me for being honest and docked my next paycheck to makeup the difference 🙁

I know, but I feel better about it tho... for now until my next pay check is small hahah.

They have giving me more than I can ask for, no need to shiest $700 when I don't need it to survive.

Are you sure it's not from the stimulus package?

Why would that show on my pay stub ?

You said the earnings were correct on your pay stub but the deposit was $700 more. are you sure the $700 deposit is not from the government stimulus plan

My company's A/P department mixed me up with a vendor and ended up paying me over $1600 (it was direct deposited into my account). It took them 6 months to take the money back after I told them. Three days after they took the money out, they redeposited into my account. 😕

Ohh sorry I wasn't clear. The earnings on the stub are correct, but the direct deposit section on the stub is wrong.

They will catch the mistake when the books don't balance.
yep, and they would reclaim it at the time that is least convenient to you.

last spring, at my workplace, 4 or 5 of us were paid around 20 extra overtime hours each. even though payroll was notified, they didn't take it back until somewhere around christmas. on top of that, we didn't even know it was going to happen until a couple of days before we received our checks.

i actually got a check for $0.00 that week. it's a damn good thing i don't live paycheck to paycheck.
