Accidently hide important folder

I chose hidden and not read only. The file disappeared and now I don't know how to bring it back.

I searched for it on the bar but to no avail.

Is there some combination of keys I need to do in order to bring it back?

HELP?

Tools, folder options, show hidden files and folders.

Or attrib -h filename from the command line

start/ settings/ control panel/ folder options/ view/ hidden files and folders - show hidden files and folders.
-assuming u use a classic start panel

otherwise just find control panel and continue sets listed above

How do I get to tools?

Depends what OS. In 2000/XP, from any Explorer window. In Vista, hit the big Organize button or hit the Alt key to see the "classic" menus.

What are you talking about??

I'm using vista - I pressed alt and "file" is highlighted. I don't know what this organize button is. Where are you??
