accidently charged my cell with a nexus 7 charger

Cell ---- .5 volts .7 amps

Ya think it's ok to use my nexus 7 charger to charge my phone? Would be nice to just use one cable and not have to remember what cable is for what. I hardly ever charge up both devices at the same time.

My note 2 charger is the same power as your nexus 7 charger, no worries your fine, enjoy the faster charge time too

the battery should regulate the incoming current so it probably isn't a problem. i've done it before on my galaxy nexus.

The charging circuit in your phone will regulate the incoming current. If the circuit can take advantage of the higher current, it'll charge considerably quicker. I use a 2.0 amp charger made for the Blackberry Playbook on my Nexus 4, can charge from empty in about 2 hours.

doesn't matter, as long as its the same voltage. the phone will draw what it needs. if it doesn't supply the full .7 then it'll just charge slower. if it supplies more than .7 it wont draw more than what it needs.

MicroUSB is a standard. Anything that charges via MicroUSB will work with any MicroUSB charger. It may not be optimal speed but damage is not possible.

As everyone else is saying, it is the voltage that is important. When you connect the phone/tablet to the charger, the phone decides how many amps to pull (up to the max the charger can supply), but it has to make do with the number of volts fed to it.

So as long as the volts match (and they should with microUSB) you can switch chargers without a problem.

I use my N7 charger all the time, but the latest S3 update seems do be weird with it. Randomly comes up with a Battery disconnected thing.
