Well, what happens if you boot off a bootable CD or DVD, most easily some Windows installation disk?

Can you then see your hard drive?

I accidentally ulplugged one of my RAPTOR X hard drives back in the day with my PC on, the one running my OS. Basically I was a n00b and had a slew of things connected to a giant chain of molex connectors and I was trouble shooting a bad fan. Unplugged the wrong part of the daisy chain and whammy dead hard drive :(. WD was totally cool though and straight up sent me another one for free. Win. And no I didn't tell them how I killed it !

OP, consider getting professional assistance next time you screw up something on your computer.

I plugged in a stick of ram into a customer laptop I though was off but was just sleeping. That was the strangest looking picture on the screen when I opened the lid. Luckily all was fine after turning it off and back on.

It is a disgrace that windows cannot recover from something as simple as this. It is basically the same thing as a power loss event, which happens all the time.

I once stuck my finger into..................a 92mm tornado fan for kicks, broke a blade off, sliced flesh to the bone.....never recovered.

Strange, I thought SATA drives were hot-swappable?

I once removed and then again plugged in my HD just to see what would happen. The system froze but recovered as soon as the HD was plugged back in.
