Accessmicro 256MB $57

not trying to rain on anyone's parade....

"purchase a zeus components sp256pc1333264 memory between december 21, 2000 and january 31, 2001"

so i don't think the rebate is good anymore.

i have no experience with the ram either, still not a bad buy if it is decent ram.

Well, I got some Zeus Ram (128MB 133) from Accessmicro last month, and it works fine, but it is completely generic - not just brand-name chips on a no-name pcb, but no-name chips on no-name pcb. Expect no real warranty.

Do your self a favor and spend a few extra bucks on Crucial.

I bought several of these sticks and none registered as 256 in my CUSL2. All hit 128, anyone know why?

eck. I had a client order one of these. Two have been bad, sent the second one back today. Access Micro MAKES YOU PAY for return shipping, damnit. Must admit that their RMA service is pretty quick though.

I just received my 256mb stick from Accessmicro yesterday and it works just fine. And the rebate keeps getting extended. It has been extended through 3/31/01. Zeus rebate link

I've used Zeus RAM to build several systems for customers and friends with absolutely no problems. Even the computer I built for my mother has Zeus RAM in it. 😀

RAM is RAM. If you want to use it for programs(Photoshop, Q3, etc, and not gay benchmark stuff) go for quantity, if you want bragging rights then buy the most expensive RAM you can find with the most exotic sounding name but don't expect it to perform any better because, again, RAM is RAM.

Hrm, ram is not quite ram...Check reviews of memory bandwidth, there is a clear difference in crucial and mushkin. Also, if overclocking quality ram is key for pushing bus speed. Sure any 256 stick is better than the best 128 for most people, but if you're the kind of person that lurks around these boards you're not most people. With lifetime warrenty and better performance, its easily worth the extra money.

Zeus has a lifetime warranty too. And the performance difference in the real world(not benchmarks) can not be measured.

Not everybody is trying to run a nosebleed/unstable bus speed on an old cpu. Either buy a new cpu or a new system with the money you are wasting on overpriced ram.

For 99.9% of people including the guys here, ram is ram. Only dudes that are trying to justify wasting cash would argue otherwise.

In addition to the Zeus and some other even more generic types I own Crucial, Kingmax, Micron, and Corsair ram brands and for all my purposes it is all the same. I was hoping for a difference but it's just not there and 2 points in the madonion benchmark ain't worth double or triple the price, sorry.

I have purchased memory from them and they have done a fine job. The memory (major brand) worked in my Gateway and also in my Duron system. Ape Out.

yea, crucial is good stuff, but give mushkin a look too. sometimes their deals are pretty good, especially when they throw in free shipping. =)

Have bought a boatload of this stuff, every bit of it will run at cas2, not one bad stick in at least 30, so I like it 🙂
