I've had highstream.net for years now at $7.95. I keep it so my brother has internet and I have dial up if nothing else is available.

Looks like we have a group of people who need to "experience" broadband, because I swear you can NEVER go back. Dial up is just, omg horrible after using cable.

I would love to "experience" broadband. But I live out in the sticks; the prospects of cable or DSL are years away, and the price of satellite is out of my league. Suspect it's the same for many people still using dial up. The 'acceleration' feature available from some of the dial up services makes a noticible difference for everyday browsing.

people still use dialup?

I only do when on vacation, and i generally just snag a FREE month AOL disc before leaving and cancel before coming home.

thats sad that there are still ppl stuck with dialup 🙁

Anyone have a problem logging on to their A4L account? I am trying to end the service ere they slam me into Earthlink. I keep getting "invalid password" message. Several emails to customer service with no reply. I had heard before it was difficult to get out.

depends on what you use the internet for. I IM, read a few articles on here, and maybe shoot a couple emails off a week. I honestly don't even use my dialup to it's full speed potential, minus being on Anandtech. DSL or Cable would be a waste for me, I would get it only if it was the same price as dialup *shrug*

i wanna know if he is personally gonna go to the cable/broadband providers and pay for everybody's broadband connection that he says we need to experience
only p diddy buys out the bars in this recession?
but if somebody footin the bill count me in
