I have a D-Link Wireless Access Point DWL-1000AP and I'm experiencing a lot of random disconnects....the "ACT" LED goes out.
Any ideas?:(

I'd try in the networking forum, but if you're having this type of problem, it could be

1. Defective AP
2. Defective wireless card
3. Interference (is there a microwave or 2.4GHz phones nearby?)

Without more information, I don't know what to tell you.

My cordless phones are 900mhz and there is a microwave about 20' away. Sometimes it stays connected for days then suddenly drops the connection. Have to reboot the AP to reconnect.

What type of wireless network card are you using? Does it have any kind of power saving enabled?

I'm using an Addtron USB wireless adapter on my laptop, it doesn't have any power saving feature that I know of.
I used this adapter to connect to a Netgear AP and had no problems.
Most of the disconnects happen after I've been browsing for about 10 mins.

I have a DWL-1000AP that loses LINK (not ACT) if I fuss around with the ethernet cable at all. It seems that there is some sort of intermittent connection. I don't know why ACT would be dying on you, though.

Ewann,
Do your ACT and LINK lights stay on all the time?

My LINK light is on steady all the time and my ACT light blinks constantly until I get dropped.
