Hi All
I am sorta semi-noob to computer DIY, I've recently build a new comp with the following specs
X6800@stock speed with stock fan
Leadtek 8800GTX
ASUS P5W DH Delux
OCZ PC6400 1Gx2
Antec case and 650W PSU

My questions is with CPU temp reading, according to ASUS PC probe2, CPU temp is about 55-60 C in moderate use and room temp of 25 C, but according to Core Temp is about 65-70 C!!! which one should I trust? Btw, I have set Q-Fan (a MB feature from ASUS) to optimal (options are silent -> optimal -> performance)
According to Intel, I shouldn't be running this CPU over 60 C, I have checked the fan installation and it feels rock solid on the MB and I am running at stock speed.
Should I be worried? My system is very stable even when playing Halflife2 at high everything. Am I slowly killing my CPU?? Is it the Q-Fan feature causing the temp prob?? I do want my comp to last for 2-3 years as I can't afford another in short term.

Sorry for my noobie and lengthy questions

Cheers

I would run it on performance. Core Temp is accepted as anything under 65 is OK for 24/7. I think the fan is just spinning too slowly. Nice system you have though.
