I am running a pIII 700 cb0 @ 904mHz at 1.80V on a asus cusl2 motherboard.

my temp idles at 37 deg celcius, and when a full load is applied, it goes up to 55 deg celcius.

is that normal??

i have 2 side fans on it, and a blowhole.

i also have a globalwin fep32 that i lapped on it too.

artic silver 2 is on it as well.

???

any suggestions?
thx

Check the temp with motherboard monitor and see if it is the same. I was at my local comp store yesterday and a guy in there said he had a 1.4ghz athlon with a good fan 6 case fans and the temp won't go down, maybe some of these cpu's just run that hot. My duron 600 oc'ed to 950 always runs hot while my duron 750 also oc'ed to 950 doesn't. the 600 has worked fine no problems for months. So you got me.

your temps seem alittle up for a p3 but not unduely or dangerously so!
my temps never exceed 40C on full load with a humble gorb.
what's your ambient air temp??

what kind of heat sink is best for my setup?

i also put on my kaine hedgehog on it, but it's the same temps.

What kind of thermal paste are you using? I always use the arctic silver, it doesn't dry out like the white goop. Just be sure not to get it all over stuff besides the proc itself as it can be very slightly conductive. Also, you could mount a Delta 38 on your FOP 32, it moves a lot more air, but it's noisy.
Edit:
Sorry I guess I can't read; I see you are using the arctic silver. One other thing that I just thought about. Are you checking your temps with an Asus monitoring program? I remember reading that the Asus program for the socket A boards always reads high.
