Acceptable deviation from PSU voltage specs?

How much variation on each of the voltage rails is generally considered to be acceptable (+/-) ? Can anyone point me to more info on this subject?
 
I can't point you to a specific source, but the numbers I hear tossed arround are +/- 2% and +/- 5%. I have heard that regardless of the actual specs of your PSU, +/- 2% is a good one to go by and if your rails remain in that range then all is well.
