AC Temp

Junior Member
Just wanted to know what people have their AC temp set at during the summer. The result could affect how cool I'm able to be.

75

Tell your roommate they can always put on clothes if its too cold. Otherwise if it gets too hot, you'll just have to start taking clothes off to cool down....

When I lived in AZ, 75.

In DC, about 72ish.

In a hotel room - AS COLD AS IT CAN GET, BRING ON THE COOLNESS!

Yipe...a little hotter than what I was expecting

I guess I'm just a freak then

@twiceover: Brilliant!

Between 70 and 75 depending on how humid it is out, and whether I'm sleeping or it's the middle of the day. Generally in the 72-73 range though, as I have a ton of really nice wine and I can't let it get too hot in my house without messing it all up.

you people are nuts LOL 66-68 during the day, when I am sleeping at nite then 65. And I concur, I can only take off so much clothing while the cold people are free to put on as much as they like.

21 C. If I was in control of every single AC (car, rooms etc...) they wouldn't budge from 21. That's the best temperature to be at. Don't know what that is in F.

Do you pay for the electricity you use? I would bet that this is the deciding factor in choosing the temps we do.

BTW, 75ish.

78-79?

At the office, they keep it around 74 (after I bitched about it being almost 80).

At home, I keep it around 70.

Aye I do, my gf hates me sometimes because she gets cold. I live in an apartment and those temps, always doing laundry, 6 pcs always on, plus 3 tv's etc my power bill runs between 100$-118$ a month. We flew out to see my girlfriends parents new house last month and her mom kept it on 78 in the middle of friggen Oklahoma. Anyway her dad made a good point, we have AC to be comfortable, we both make great money and there is no sense sweating and being uncomfortable to save a few dollars a month. Thats kinda how I feel.

All my friends have their AC units sitting indoors; typically on the kitchen table... they keep it on max 24/7 because apparently it doesn't work very well.

Needless to say, I don't like my friends.

Maybe his roommate will pop out?

I keep mine set at around 72 during the summer if I need it at all.

Is this a window A/C unit? If so, your friends are idiots. Those things need to be in a window to exhaust the heat they create.

Because of energy costs, I usually set it to 80. Because of the increased energy costs, it is turned off right now (I'll just use a fan).

70F. My roommates would rather put more clothes on, than I take more off.
