according to the second chart at this page on MadShrimps the AC Freezer 64 pro performs better at 100% than the zalman CNPS9500LED at 100%.
Is that possible? I knew that the freezer is supposed to be good but outperforming one of the top heatsinks out there is no small feat at half the price.

Zalman CNPS9500 = overpriced and overhyped

For the $$$ there are WAY better CPU heatsinks on the market right now

The freezer 7 pro is the intel comliant equivelent of the f64pro and performs just as well, for all you conroe junkies out there, I think provantage has the best deal on both of those @ $21 shipped. Sweet life! I love how the freezer also keeps up with the bigger sinks in hte noise department!

And for all those of you with older Socket 478 Intel parts, there's the slightly less powerful, dual heatpipe Freezer 4. We've got one on parnts' comp and it lets a 3.0C HT Pentium 4 idle at 31C.

I can tell you right now the freezer64 pro doesnt perform better than the cnps9500. Im not sure where you got that from but.... I have had the freezer64 pro and it really only performs about on par with an xp-90. The cnps9500 is expensive and a little overhyped perhaps but it does perform better than a freezer64 pro.

I think it depends HEAVILY on your case and the airflow you have going through it. For instance the CNPS9500 is designed to force air out to the back of the case, but without proper ventillation out the back you won't get that benefit. The Freezer64 faces down toward the PSU where there usually is a fan sucking hot air out.

Freezer Pro can be rotated if needed. So, it can be mounted to force air towards the exhaust fan on any motherboard. That is how it is supposed to be installed.

If your Freezer 64 pro faces your PSU, you have installed it incorrectly.

Mine blows air to the rear exhaust fan. However, to fully use the potential of any tower cooler, you should install a front 120mm intake in the bottom three 5.25" bays. This provides fresh, unheated air from the outside instead of air from the bottom of the case, which is already heated by the video card and hard drives.

I bought the freezer to hold me until I researched more into more expensive HSF's, now its holding me from even thinking of buying another.
