Came from Atlanta, whose PD is a shitshow, and went to Louisville, whose PD was and still is a shitshow. Cleanup going to take forever even once the DoJ gets done with the consent decree.
You'll never cleanup police without a complete and total change in society as this all stems from the general fucked up mentality that is prevalent in society of viewing women only as very narrow roles (mothers, sisters, and for much else women are viewed often negatively, and by a large portion of men, as nothing more than sex objects with a subset believing that if they won't satisfy his sexual urges then they'll make them do it and/or kill them).
This shit happens everywhere. Law enforcement is probably the single largest organizational perpetrator of sex crimes and misconduct. If people knew how much of this type of shit went on they would actually support defunding the police. They aren't just aware of the sex trafficking they are often the ones managing it, and in some places, they literally are the ones running it (there's been multiple true crime stories where serial murders have happened but everything gets muddled up because the police are involved in the sex trafficking that the victims were part of). There's one in Louisiana, the Long Island Serial Killer was enabled and possibly covered up by police that were part of the general sex scene (by that I'm meaning the weird orgies and BDSM clubs and shit that are basically sex workers going to parties of rich dudes), and I think there's others (Robert Pickton threw huge parties at his farm, called the "Piggy Palace" that were known to be attended by police and other government officials and sex workers). But the sexual misconduct by police is despicably rampant. There's a women's prison here in Arizona that was on some reality TV show a couple of years back that got outed because the prison guards were sex trafficking the women, and most of the "customers" were police. Listened to a story recently where a cop kept demanding sex from a woman (and had sexually assaulted her already), who then arrested her son for a double murder, who using ridiculous bullshit witness testimony (that was refuted by more witnesses, hell the drug dealer that put out the hit for that murder literally fucking signed a statement saying the kid was innocent because he had hired some other guy to do that murder), ended up in prison for 20 something years. The detective did eventually get outed (get this he'd sexually assaulted multiple other women).
I've said it multiple times, but if people knew how prevalent racism and the general gross attitude of sexual misconduct is in police, they would throw up. Take all the awful situations you've heard about and multiply it by 10. Even the "good cops" have likely partaken or are very aware of it going on by others. There was another thread where someone posted how their neighbor was a fine upstanding cop, good family man, etc. Yeah, those are often some of the worst ones, because they get all their sexual aggression out while at work and then go home and play daddy.
