I see alot of ppl using these reels at paylakes and stuff but never owned one. Anyone here use them? Are they good reliable reels?

I know I bought a cheap shakespear last year and it broke after a month of use. When I went to cast it the release button popped back out and stripped the gears or something it in. Pissed me off.

I believe my brother has a few Abu's they are very well balanced and pretty light but then again it wasn't a bait caster but it should tell you about the quality.

Abu Garcia = high quality

I've been using their 5K/6K series for 15+ years now, and they are workhorses. I still have a 5500 C3 in my storage closet.
