Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi - the secretive leader of Islamic State - may have been killed, according to reports from different sources.

News first broke in a statement from the al-Amaq news agency, which has close links to ISIS.
In a statement, the agency claimed: "Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi has been killed by coalition air strikes on Raqqa on the fifth day of Ramadan."

The U.S.-led coalition fighting the Islamic State said Tuesday it could not confirm reports that Islamic State leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi had been killed in a U.S. airstrike.
Army Col. Chris Garver, the top spokesman for the coalition in Iraq, told USA TODAY he was aware of the reports from the Islamic news agency AlhlulBayt and other sources.
We have seen these types of reports before.
Garver said that, if true, al-Baghdadi's death would be welcome news but would not signal the end of the fight.

Clearly Obama is trying to divert attention for his terrorist sympathizing.

No wait.

Clearly this was done against Obamas wishes and he had to be forced to approve it.

No wait.

Clearly Obama had nothing to do with the decision and was too busy golfing.

The much more obvious answer is clearly Bummer went over there and killed him personally with his bare hands, just like 'he got bin Laden'. LOL oh man... :D

Meanwhile, the Syrian army is advancing into Raqa province.
This is the beginning of the end for ISIS.
Mosul may be their final stand in the coming months / years.
Unless the dam breaks....

Unfortunately it appears to be whack a mole over there. Al Queda goes down, up pops ISIS. ISIS goes down, up pops.. ? We may have a few years of relative calm in between before we go off on another adventure and stir the hornets net. Oh well.

ISIS popped up because the United States, through Libya and Turkey, armed a rebellion against Assad. Maybe if we stop toppling their governments / militarizes we'll have leaders to negotiate and cooperate with against terrorists.

It's regime change that caused this.
It's regime change we can stop doing.

Don't worry, they'll make more. They always do.
True. But for all their express desire to join Allah in a blaze of glory, the desire to be the top dog seems to markedly drop with the number of top dogs who attain that whilst believing they are safe.

Not a single mention of Iraq.

What a lovely re-write of history.

Pop quiz hot shot, is Raqa in Iraq or Syria?
Whose military would have squished Baghdadi like a bug if they weren't busy being killed by US-armed Rebels? ISIS used Syria to organize before they marched back across the desert and claimed Mosul. There's a reason Raqa is their capital city.

And regime change applies to both countries. Stop !@#$ing up the lid on crazy over there. The Middle East needs military dictators. That's the lesson of Iraq and of ISIS. Clinton and Obama doubled down on stupid in Libya, and came very close to succeeding a third time in Syria.

This isn't the first report of his demise. One news report early last year said he was dead. Another said he had been paralyzed in a bombing.

I'm curious if there was a failure like Carter had with the hostages you would blame the pilot not Obama?

As I said in another thread, I heard Joe Scarborough sarcastically say that Obama is an ISIS plant its obvious. His cover is so deep he drinks beer, eats pork, killed Osama, has killed the most suspected terrorists. Now he's waiting until his final day in office to act. His cover is very, very deep...

Carter did not have a failure with the hostages.

The US military was unable to carry out the mission that Carter approved. First they crashed a C130 in the southern Iran desert, then they crashed a helicopter, in the end it was deemed unfeasible to move forward with the mission to go to Tehran and rescue the hostages.

The Potus orders the mission with advice from the DOD. It is up to the DOD people to carry it through to a conclusion.

So yes, if the mission was doable I would blame the pilot. What exactly do you think Obama can do about how some individual pilot carries out their orders?

If the mission is not doable then DOD should so inform Potus.

It will be like it was after Bush's boys picked up the Rin Jeremy lookalike Taliban leader. I remember for about 2 or three weeks they'd name a replacement then 1-3 days later that guy would be killed. I remember one of the final guys had a shocked look on his face when the news came out he was the new leader. Like a oh fuck I'm going to be dead look similar to this
