Maybe a $20-$50 gift certificate for a local mall, restaurant, Best Buy, whatever, I'm sure he'd be thrilled and you won't have to even think!

A Best Buy/other electronics place sounds like a good idea too. If he doesn't want or need it, he can always give it to someone else...

Homecooked meal might be a little strange - especially if the guy happens to be married or a gourmet cook or something. Couple of gift certificates to a local restaurant maybe? Or the bottle of wine.

Heh. I intend to remain fully clothed throughout this transaction.

At least be careful then....I know those people in SoCal are crazy and will lock you in their basements, he could be a serial killer. Crazy Hollywood people. If it were me I would like a case of beer, but you are right a decent bottle of wine or some liquor (whiskey, rum, etc.) might be in order. How do you know this guy is old enough to drink though?

Well, I don't... but I'm assuming from things he's selling/sold in the past, he's old enough to drink. Example:

Porsche Boxster Silverguard Car Cover. "This cover was bought when I got my boxter in 1998. I never used it. I took it out of the bag once, but that was it. So, it's basically new. Everything appears to be there. But I noticed on some of the similar auctions that they make reference to a lock and I don't see one. So, I guess it's not there. But the cable is."

If he got his boxter in 1998, he must've been at least 16, which would make his birthyear 1982 or lower. If he was born in 1982, he'd be 21 this year. 😛

BJ! :Q

lol, I'd give away monitors too if that's the case

Yeah, but would you give away a sweet 21" monitor if it wasn't that good? I'd definitely have to knock it down to a broken 15" monitor if they scraped with teeth, for example. 😉

Okay, a few people have said the homecooked meal would be weird (although I still have the peas/imitation crab/spaghetti mixture in a pot at home 😀 ).

Wine and a gift certificate? Or just a gift certificate? That sounds nice.

Hehe... I'm sure I throw in a 99-cent pair of mittens from ROSS... 😛

I can't see real well...is that Ben freakin Matlock here or is it Columbo?!? We got ourselves a detective! Anyway, ya I'd say you are right and that is a fairly good assumption. Plus anyone with a Boxster is most likely old enough. Wine or gift certificates it is

I say forget the wine and go with a gift cert. from a nice restaurant, not everyone enjoy wine ...

Just a GC should be good...two things is a bit much, looks like you're trying to seduce him with gifts or something. maybe he won't mind, who knows. 🙂

When he finishes putting the monitor in your car (b/c we all know that a gentleman would offer to put the heavy monitor in the car for a nice lady), you should thank him then flash him your boobs.

That would please me...as long as they aren't saggin' 😉

Gah. Okay, no wine, no home cooked meal. I have to go pick up the monitor at 7pm, which only gives me about 30 minutes to find a restaurant / buy a certificate. Any restaurant recommendations? I actually have a few from restaurant.com off eBay, but that's kinda tacky. 😛

Call me weird but I've always HATED gcs.. I mean, theirs a value right on it.. So you'd either seem cheap or excessive.. Get him a gift basket.. I personally like exotic cheeses.. In fact, part of my trip to france was trying out the local cheeses.. OK, I'm really weird.. A fruit basket/etc. is asexual enough to be worthy..

Er... I have no boobs. 😛 Flashing might scare him away. 😀

I think I'm going to go for the $50 best buy gift certificate... thanks guys... 🙂

Heh. I intend to remain fully clothed throughout this transaction. 😀 I can't make Italian food (reference thread: I suck at cooking 😛 ) but I can make pretty damn good fried rice. Maybe I'll bring him some dinner and wine?

I think of more than a few things you can do fully clothed... :Q kidding, really!

Perhaps a cheesecakes or something? Homecooked meals are always hit and miss because you never know a person's particular tastes. A cheesecake is good, because if they don't like cheesecake, they can easily give it away to someone who would. This isn't possible with a full meal...
