About to watch Ringu (The original Japanese version of The Ring)

I loved the american one. Is Japanese better or worse?

I haven't seen the new one, I only skipped through pieces of it. But I think it is much more developed from the little pieces that I saw. It just seems more eerie. Plus I have never really heard Japanese spoken extensively before so that was pretty interesting.

It's a good flick in its own right. Enjoy!

I just watched it for 10 mins, and am burning the movie for my friend now..

I don't like it much. The movie being 10 years old and all, the American version is MUCH better so far. It doesn't have the music build up and sudden soundeffects like the American one...

I'll report back after I finish it.

I thought it was made in the late 90s too. Pretty sure of that actually.

The Ring was a GREAT movie, but I'm not particularly wanting to see it (or the original) again any time soon. Too gloomy, not to mention freaky. I'd have to watch something like Weekend at Bernie's immediately after that just to counterbalance the gloominess.

Personally, I think that Vietnamese is not so much evil as it is the most harsh and ugly sounding language. Nothing agains vietnamese but if you've ever had to spend an extended amount of time around people that only speak vietnamese, you'd understand.


back to subject at hand. The american version of the Ring was good. watching the Japanese version this weekend.

I think Japanese is kind of goofy sounding.. but I have never seen a Japanese horror movie.... German is pretty scary.
