I did the same thing but I have you beat, I watched every episode from pilot to current in about 2 weeks. It's no joke when people say it's addicting, I had a hard time stopping each day, it was always like... just one more episode... then there'd be another cliffhanger and I'd have to watch just one more.

I think there starts to be a little sillyness as it gets higher in seasons, but IMO at this point it's still the best thing on TV. I'm glad I went back and watched it all.

It was exactly 14 days, 2/5-2/18. To be honest I really disliked much of season 5, but couldn't stop watching otherwise. Amazing that I knew nothing about the show until a friend raved a couple days beforehand, but it was a treat being able to watch the shows back to back.

This is nowhere near as bad when you're watching it online, since you can just watch the next one. Waiting week-to-week, and almost a year between seasons has been TORTURE. This is coming from someone who has watched every episode starting with the pilot on live TV.

it still sucks though...

Lost is an addiction.

This.

I never watched LOST. Couldn't get into the pilot when it was on.

So.. about 3 months ago.. i saw it was on Netflix, and gave it a shot..

Watched all of Season 1 in 2 days.
Then watched season 2, 3, 4, 5 over the course of the next 3 weeks.

Now i can't wait for season 6 episodes to air.

The show has extremely poor writing and it goes plotless from season 3+. They pretty much spend half of each episode walking through forests after that. They take a thin plot and extend it within an inch of its life.

They follow a formula post season 3 of big reveal that turns into nothing... try to waste time through the episode, give another big reveal cliffhanger. The show has absolutely no direction.

People just really don't know what a good show is anymore.. the fact that people think Lost is quality is unbelievable.

you will get hooked from seasons 1-3, then like season 4, then get really disappointed with season 5, then trod through what's currently on air out of your huge time investment.

Haha. A show doesn't have to be super good quality for me to enjoy it. Maybe you're different? :)

The first 3 seasons were clearly the best imo.

My daughter was born in 2007, so I've been behind. Just caught up to the end of season 5 last night.

It's a great show! I'm pretty picky about what I'll spend my time doing. Watching Lost and getting caught up was a no brainer. Everyone should give it a shot. Just watch the pilot and a few episodes. If you like that, there's plenty more.

I got bored of it after
we discovered they got off the island and penny's dad's boat et. al came into play.

Someone wanna fill me in on wtf they've been doing with the episodes / storyline recently (using spoiler tags of course)? Summaries like "Sayid goes to visit the girl he was in love with who also happened to be his war prisoner" don't tell me sh!t.

I don't need no stinkin' spoiler tags:

Locke discovers the fountain of youth. Jack decides to become a woman, since he cries so much anyway. Vincent begins to talk and calls Shannon a whore. Kate reveals she came back to island for lesbian sex with Claire. Bernard realizes Rose is black. Hurley admits that he ate most of the people who disappeard on the island. Sawyer admits he never wears a shirt because they "chafe'. Ben admits he is evil because no one really likes him.

I've been watching it on Netflix for the last few weeks. I'm up to season five now. Even with it getting as weird as it has, it is one of the few shows that has stayed as good through later seasons as it was in the first few.

It's even better if you can watch it in HD on a large screen tv.
The scenery is absolutely incredible and really adds a lot to the atmosphere.

Once I saw the guy get sucked into the engine, I was sucked into the show.

I'll give you a hint about this show:

it isn't about the island and all the crazy shit.
it's about people. there is a reason the show is first and foremost a drama. the crazy is just to add a plot.
when you watch the show for the people, everything changes. It becomes one of the finest television shows to ever been created, because the characters are so damn detailed. There's a lot more to the show than "crazy shit happens!", anyone who actually cares can see the characters are written with philosophy, psychology, religion, and all the social theories in-between serving as what drives them.

It's why I loved the recent Battlestar Galactica series. Politics and social behavior are the driving thoughts behind the characters.

You can of course ignore all that and just enjoy what is happening on the show, but it's very hard to ignore, or even be ignorant, of such concepts on Lost when half the characters are named after very important theorists and most of those theories are drawn upon for behavior quite often. The writers are nearly genius for that alone.
Then again, I am insanely interested in social and individual behavior theories, so this show gets to entertain me on multiple fronts. :)
