i just got my swiftech mcx 4000 and am thoroughly pleased with it. i have a p4 1.6a overclocked to 2.3 GHz and at idle i am looking at 28C and at full load i am looking at 35C. i guess the cool weather helps as well but temps have always been low after going from stock to a swiftech. i am using a custom 80mm fan from mechatronics instead of the one that usually comes with the swiftech. here's a link: swiftech
by the way, i reversed the fan so instead of sucking air out it is blowing air on the cpu. you'll get a nice drop in temps this way. good luck in your purchase.
Thanks for the info. I will go for the 4000, but now, I am wondering what fan I should get with it. I don't want an 80cfm Delta as they are too noisy for my liking. Any suggestions on a good cfm fan but doesn't sound like a ramjet?
hello again. well i personally ordered an 80mm mechatronic fan. it's a bit tricky to install this heatsink so you'll have to be a little patient, but once you got it installed you'll reap the rewards. here's a link to the fan: Mechatronics 80x80x25mm Fan (Ultra High Speed)
