About to jump out of a perfectly good airplane

Well it's my last day in New Zealand (sorta I fly out tomorrow). I wasn't going to go sky diving, but I won $250 playing poker last night, and Skydiving costs $245! I wish I could afford the pictures and video, but they really give it to you right through the pants for those.

So I got a free jump plus alot of fun at the table. So, has anyone done this, the skydiving? It's a perfectly good airplane I am told, nothing wrong with it. The only reason to jump out of it is because you can. Hmmm....

Last month I did the "Nevis Jump", a 136m bunjy jump. And that was pretty intense. I wonder how it will compare after I go skydiving.

And if anything goes wrong, it's a good day to die I suppose. As good as any when it comes down to it.

I got to say, Bungee jumping is a bit more scary than skydiving. The most intense moment was hanging outside of the plane right before we jumped. I was suspended over the side while the Tandom Master was inside the plane. He rocked me foward, so I was completly ouside of the plane and than he jumped. We did a barrel roll and then went into the stabalised position. Wicked good fun.

Spend a few years on jump status in the military and you'll soon find out there's no such thing as a "perfectly good airplane," especially after you see some of the mechanics and their techniques.
