For reasonable price and noise levels, recommend a SK-7 HS with a vantec stealth 80mm fan. It wont be the coolest (<40C) but should do fine if your not OC'ing. If you want to OC, slap a high CFM 80mm on that SK-7 and put in some ear plugs 🙂. Good Luck.

Both from SVC.com, btw for the 80MM to fit on the SK6 you have to put the fan in diagonally.

are you looking for something particularly quiet? or for overclocking?

The stock retail heatsinks are a lot better than I had expected and would use them if I weren't packing an alpha 8045 w/ panaflo for quiet cooling

I can't overclock, I need stable.


and this is for a DJ rig, so the speakers will be alot louder then any fan I can stick in the case...

an 80 mm heat sink and a quiet 80 mm fan will be just fine.

Ok I use my PC as well to DJ..my first rig was a desktop, but now i use a server 2U rackmount case that mounts with my amps.. I highly recommend doing this, a little expensive but worth it.

I had a 4U rack within my set up and didn't like it, my box gets moved around too much and the PC started having troubles...


so I moved to an Antec LanBoy and it is much better for me

I do have a Sound Blaster Live 5.1 that I used in the old DJ PC, if the on board works fine with the new soft then I will continue to use the on board, other wise I will use that SB Live.


Also, the DJ PC will eventually get a Linksys Wireless G NIC


there are a few more things I got, but I just can't think of it right now and do want to stop watching the game. ( Fakers and TWolfs )



oh, also the DJ PC have a Lite-on 40x burner to do all the ripping ( due to it can read the copy protected CD's )

Personally, I would get one of these:

Speeze 5R265B1H3 Supports up to Athlon XP 3000+ for 8 US$ + shipping. recommended for XP300+. It has a 60 mm fan, runs at 4800 rpm, at only 30 dB.

Speeze 5T208B1H3 Supports up to Athlon XP3000+ for 8 US$ + shipping - This one is bigger (70 mm) and has greater air flow, runs at 4200 rpm only, but 32 dB.
