going to try to solve a really frustrating startup problem. i basically have to turn my computer on, and his the restart button until it catches. tried many other things, hopefully flashing the BIOS will work.

pray to em if you got em...

Yeah, I've flashed my BIOS a few times, and until I get to my desktop, I'm praying to the BIOS gods "please don't be screwed up" Nothing like the feeling of relief when everything comes up right.

okay... here goes.. if i post again tonight, it'll mean one of two things:

1) i did it, it worked

or

2) i chickened out.

if i don't post later tonight... then shame on you folks for not praying more for me. 😀

I flashed my BIOS on Saturday for the first time ever, w/o any help either and I was shaking while I did it. I was so scared I was doing something wrong and when I was finished I was like, "That was it?!" It is really easy, I have a Abit KG7 and it is like dummy-proof. 🙂

and the suspense continues...

aflash said i had the wrong bios flash file... so back on asus's crappy website looking for a different bios.

MB is labeled A7Pro but the current Bios is an A7V.

update soon...

<< Heh, Azraele is right, but as long as you don't cut the power during the flash you should be ok. >>

A UPS is your friend 😉
