I saved over $200, so I'm not sure what you're thinking...

Bought it, guy got it 2 months ago, still had receipt. It works perfectly and I'm loving it.

Well established as low to mid-range at best.

They just don't make good hardware.

Maybe back when they first came out, but they're a pretty well-established brand now.

Yeah, well-established as crap. The only thing that has made them NOT be the on the lowest tier of TV's is the explosion of super-crap, no-name brands you see today. Vizio hasn't gotten any better.

My parents have had a Vizio TV for about 10 years. The only thing that has gone wrong is the ATSC tuner. Anecdotal evidence but I'm not against buying them for the right use.

For the record I have a Mitsubishi TV.

I found it new for under 400, so you can do the math.

if you like it great, but don't ask my opinion and think you are all high and mighty because you already made up your mind.

LCD and vizio are the two main reasons I wouldn't buy it. the $$ just makes it very objective decision.

you bought what I consider a crap display. I wouldn't buy it for $50, but simple minds, simple pleasures. enjoy

For everyone else; thanks for your opinions. I was upgrading from a 27" tube TV on a budget and for the value, this is a great quality TV for me. I was in the market for a mid-range one and it fits that bill perfectly. I actually got it for $200 so for me it was a steal.

For this guy:

I found it new for under 400, so you can do the math.

if you like it great, but don't ask my opinion and think you are all high and mighty because you already made up your mind.

1. I posted a $400 new price. The TV was posted at $240, which new based off of my posted Amazon price, would have been $160 savings. How the hell was I supposed to know you found it somewhere else cheaper and therefore saved more than $150 (you sure you included tax too?) I am a math major and can do math just fine; maybe you shouldn't assume I knew your hidden source.

2. I wasn't acting high and mighty, nor did I make a decision before asking your opinion. You didn't even properly respond until the next day, which was too late for the deal.

3. I see you are a TV enthusiast, so for you the quality/price doesn't justify it, and that iss fine.

4. I respect your opinion, and just wanted an honest reason as to why you felt that way. But, with your "simple minds, simple pleasures" comment (ironic that you called me high and mighty), I lost all respect I previously had. I deeply apologize for presenting my simple mind and 3rd world TV in your presence.

Not a bad deal for the price. Vizio doesnt have a great rep but a lot of stuff these days is gonna be hit or miss for quality. I bought a samsung CRT tv back in 2003 for $275 new. The thing lasted less than three years before the component and svideo jacks started dying and the thing liked to hum on power on for a few minutes. The cheapo Sceptre lcd I replaced it with cost twice as much and its still going strong 7 years later. I finally just recycled the samsung crt after it sat as a spare tv for 3 years.

The Samsung 50'' plasma I bought last year cost $50 more than the 32'' Sceptre did new. Runs good so far. :)

That was uncalled for.
