Intel Core2 Quad Q6700
Intel® Desktop Board DG33TL Media Series
Windows Vista* Home Premium Edition
-$249

Note: Of these three things, the only thing that I will use is the processor. I will most likely sell the motherboard and Vista.

ABIT IP35 Pro LGA 775 Intel P35 ATX Intel Motherboard - $180

BFG - NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTS OC Graphics Card - $344

Antec - TruePower Trio 650-Watt ATX CPU Power Supply - $90

G.SKILL 4GB(2 x 2GB) DDR2 800 Dual Channel Kit Retail - $110

SAMSUNG Black 1.44MB 3.5" Internal Floppy Drive Windows 98SE/ ME/ 2000/ XP - OEM - $6.99

Microsoft Intellimouse Explorer 3.0 Black - $31.99

2x SAMSUNG 20X DVD±R DVD Burner with LightScribe Black SATA Model SH-S203N - OEM - $71.98

Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Platinum Fatal1ty Champion Series Sound Card - Retail - $165

Samsung - 22" Widescreen Flat-Panel LCD Monitor - 226BW - $330

75GB Raptor WD 10k RPM HD - Already have

Seagate 500 GB - $100

Antec P182 Case - $104.99

Thermalright Ultra-120 Extreme - $69.99

Scythe S-FLEX SFF21E 120mm Case Fan - $14.99

Total Price: $1870

I also added a new CPU heatsink and fan since I hear the stock is awful.

Also, is there anywhere else I could get that fatal1ty card cheaper than $165? It doesnt have to be fatal1ty branded, I just want the front bay with my Xfi card.

Any other suggestions? mobo and everything look okay?

What are some possible changes I could make (with little or no difference) that would lower the price?

So, how is the comp looking? Am I forgetting anything? I have the 500 GB HD for storage, games, etc etc, while my Raptor will be for Windows and other essentials.

Please give me some contructive criticism. This is the third build of this computer, so I will be ordering very soon!

Thanks!

Go with the Tuniq Tower 120 for $45 at Newegg, already includes the fan so it saves you $40 versus the U-120X + fan.

Hold off on the sound card--try the onboard sound before buying a separate card. You may be surprised at how good it sounds--if not you can always get the sound card later.

SeaSonic 500W PSU >80% efficient for $70 is a great deal.

EDIT: You're getting those three items in a bundle for $250?!? Wow. Where?

well, ive used the xfi cards before and i really do like them, so not having one isnt an option :)

how would the Corsair HX520 do?

And as for the bundle, its through Intel Retail Edge (you must be employed at a place that sells intel comps)
