I'm about to bite the bullet on this moniter. Has anyone ever had any experience with this product or with the brand?

*update*
I got the lcd today and it looks pretty good. Ive been looking at a few videos and they look pretty good. I;m suprised that it was so cheap 🙂 I give it a thumbs up especially for its price.

Viewsonic are pretty popular.. I owned 5 of their monitors.. 17" 19" 20" (crt). I have not own a LCD before.. usually buy from dell... I never had a problem with them..

Viewsonic monitors are great. They have great colors and black levels. Havent used that exact model but have had other Viewsonic monitors and loved them.

I just got my first Viewsonic LCD (VX2025WM) two weeks ago and I'm very happy with it. It's a widescreen, just an inch larger, but has the same contrast ratio I think. To me, the colors are very vibrant, much better than my old 17" samsung (which wasn't bad by any means either).

looks decent to me guessing it's a TN panel? are you a gamer? lower ms times aren't everything

also it has speakers.....

what video card will be used with this?

I am a gamer, but i am not that into it to the point that i care about the ms. The speakers are there but i wont be using them. X800 pro is what i'm using.

Thanks a lot guys, i was kinda worried about this. The price makes it very attractive especially since i'm just using a 17inch crt.

Well honestly your question is vague.

Have I used that particular LCD ----> No
Have I used Viewsonic ----> Yes

Viewsonic is a good company.

NOW does that really help to answer anything, I hope not. 🙁

What do you need this LCD for? That is what people are here for so you can get something to fit your REAL needs, not just a vague question, which won't really help you accomplish anything.

Viewsonic Q series are actually Optiquest which is junk in my experience. I worked at BestBuy for a bit. We had to open every box before the client left the store to check if they monitor worked, and has less than a trillion dead pixels. There were far too many problems with these monitors, particularly the Q7.

Edit: I would recommend the BenQ FP92W. My dad has about 40 BenQs at his office and hasn't had a single defect yet.

How long has he had them? I think it was BenQ has or had a problem with their inverters dying after a year or so.

Need this moniter for general web surfing, lots of shows in widescreen, and a few games. After having a notebook as my only computer for a while the widescreen really grew on me.

$155 -> $231 ... that's 2/3rds more expensive! Not in the same price range.

Dunno how you can go wrong with a $155 monitor? Just google for the model #, and unless you find a bunch of complaints, you can assume it's at least "acceptable"

Good monitor for the price, but you may consider investing in something a little better. However it is up to you. The dell linked is a very good deal, though it should not be confused with the 8 bit 2007fpw. This is the 6 bit TN e207fpw. Still a decent monitor. The benq mentioned will probably be bested by the FP93X benq, and it's only $209 shipped @ newegg. Hardly any ghosting in games.

I agree, this is a really good price. However, I might shy away from this monitor since it does not have a DVI input, only D-Sub. These days and times, there is no reason to buy a digital LCD without a DVI connection. This is my opinion.
