About to buy this laptop tonight

Decent deal. Averae specs for the price with a bit of style. Your not going to do much better and could certainly do worse. If you like the unique style then go for it.

I'm going to best buy in a few hours before they close to buy this. Will I regret it? Thoughts?

I'm sorry to say but thats a horrible deal. No LED screen and very heavy for a 14.1 incher.

you could get the Asus G50 for $899 if they still have it at that price. I got one a few weeks ago and it's pretty nice, imo.

if you havent bought a laptop yet you can visit Notebook Reviews and they have wealth of information also they can offer you coupon for any seletected notebook. Good luck

I still haven't bought it. I went to best buy to check it out though. I think tonight is the night.

by the way is the Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator 4500MHD that I see a lot of laptops use any good? Could it run source engine?

its basically the bottom of the barrel. reason why you see so many with it is b/c its pretty much one of the cheapest GPUs you can get in a laptop.

i bought an Asus with very similar specs at Best Buy, for about $619.

it doesn't have the 9300M.

it did survive the "drop test" (fell 3 feet & the smoothie landed on top of
it, meaning there was smoothie in the heat sink duct, to clean out.)

Hey I have looked everywhere but cannot seem to find ANYTHING; is the battery UPGRADABLE? I hear the battery life is pretty bad =[

Is this compatible with the laptop in the OP?

How much battery life would that give me?

EDIT: it BLOWS my mind that NOWHERE asus sells batteries for this.. what is going on?? I've spent hours looking for a damn battery ..

Google is your friend try google seach for OEM battery for Asus notebook. OEM battery usually sells cheaper than Asus sells one if they have one.
