about to buy the Titan!

What is your purpose with the Titan?

If it's professional CUDA applications, go for it. If it is gaming, go with an OC'ed 780 with a good aftermarket cooler. It'll run just as fast for much less money.
 
Buy a Titan. If you already wanted to buy a Titan, you clearly have the cash.

Is it worth it? No, but you already knew that.
You're about to buy it though and you already know it's not worth it so you clearly want it, so get it. Seems more like an attention whore thread than anything else. Coming from a forum where girls do this a lot, I know attention whoring when I see it.
 
Go for it. A Titan is a Titan, its not cut back and its the best single GPU you can currently get. If you can afford it, why get anything else? Far from overkill either, Titan still can't max Crysis 3 at 1200p at a solid 60FPS with settings cranked (thought it gets close if you adjust AA), not can it run SSAA in Metro Last Light (but it runs everything else maxed). As for SLI, buy 2 and smash the 780's if you really want to.

if you have common sense then you use SMAA instead of MSAA if you want 60 fps. even my dinky 660ti can get 45-50 fps on very high with SMAA.

and how about you answering my earlier question?
 
People are way to focus on "maxed" settings. Most demanding games can't be completely maxed and get good FPS. Not all those settings are really intended to be used. It seems when dev's decide what settings they'll offer, they figure that only the most extreme PC's can max the game without AA. To push both max settings and AA requires future PC's.

The idea with PC's is to offer settings all over the map for many different PC's, past, present and future. We should not worry so much about having everything maxed.

SMAA just makes everything a horrible blurry mess. Especially the grass, it just looks terrible with SMAA in Crysis 3. MSAA is the only real AA setting in that game. I prefer no AA to using those terrible blur filter AA settings they try to get us to use.
