Wait, this is a serious thread? I thought you were just a really sophisticated, ironic troll.

You question is ridiculous. You posted $5 batteries, sold by people with 99% positive feedback & thousands of sales? You are actually, 100% srsly asking if those are scams?????

I hope to god that you're from sub-Saharan Africa and have recently immigrated to the USA, and only now gotten on the internet.

If you don't want to offer help or advice, feel free to go somewhere instead making stupid remarks.

I never accused (expressed or implied) of those two sellers as fraud. I asked a question and if you don't like it, you can go FU@@ yourself. Troll.

I bought a knock-off battery for my Sony camera from eBay. Saved $70 off Sony's price, and have had absolutely no complaints. I did buy the second cheapest battery...the cheapest battery on eBay had a misspelling on it.

When I buy off ebay, I look for:
1. lots of positive feedback
2. very few negative feedbacks
3. steady activity - lots of activity in the last month or so on an otherwise low-volume account is a warning sign
4. seller sells lots of items similar to what I'm shopping for

PayPal is linked to my CC.

Yup. I use the same guideline when I buy from ebay too.

I had bought different OEM (Made In China) batteries for my dad's camera from power users a while ago.
The (ebay + paypal) transactions went fine. My dad said the batteries are crap and don't hold charges like the real retail ones.
Now I only buy real retail battery.
