with assembly it comes to 730 U.S.

I've gotten a few quotes and this seems to be the cheapest in my area. Other quotes for same system, came in higher.

What do you think???

Personally, I like the Antec 300 better than the 200. It's really simple and easy to work with. I couldn't stand the Antec 200 on my desk =x, but that's just me. Go with a 640gb WD Caviar Black or the 1TB one (the 640gb is supposed to be the fastest, but they're close enough). DDR2 and DDR3 are nearly the same price. Go with a DDR3 motherboard and RAM if you want.

I don't get it.. why would you build a beast of a gaming rig... then play call of duty 2 on medium-low settings?!? That system should be running crysis at ultra settings.
Don't waste your money on the 5770 and just get integrated graphics. It'll run your CoD2 fine at highest settings.

Agreed. BVCU, you're seriously overbuilding if that's all you're planning to do with the system. If you want to play modern games, then that's a good system, otherwise, there's a lot you can chop out of there and save yourself a few hundred.

lol I still remember playing CoD2 with maxed out settings on my GeForce2GTS. That game uses the quake3 engine from 1998 FFS.

THAT'S WHAT I THOUGHT AT FIRST TOO. But then if he picked a 5770 with DX11 support, I automatically assumed he's gonna be looking into support for future games.

I'm talking about that one.

That'll be the most taxing game i'll be playing. Call of Duty 2 Modern Warfare or whatever it's called.


I'm just looking for the cheapest possible system that will run that no problem. Other games i'll be playing are from years ago....but that one just came out like 4 months ago and everywhere i've checked.....suggested i'd need like a GTS 250 just to barely play it at 60 fps.


So yeah, playing that game at 60 fps on medium is the max my comp needs to be able to do. I'm not too worried about any future games or anything else really.

1920x1080 or possibly lower.

I'm not sure about what monitor, as i have mild eye issues. But for sake of argument, that resolution on a 20-21.5 inch monitor.

A 5770 can easily max out MW2 at 1920x1080, even with some AA; no need to settle for low-med settings. I played that game on my lowly 4850 at 1680x1050, max detail settings + 4xAA.
