I'm about to go and buy an LCD TV off ebay (yes, I know, but the price is right). Right now I'm looking at two different models, I'm either going to purchase a Viewsonic 27" LCD Flat Panel or a 32" Viewsonic flat panel. They aren't that bad of a price - running between $650-$900 for the 32. Let me know what you guys think of this brand of TV and maybe if I should look elsewhere...?

Why on earth would you buy off ebay? Sometimes peace of mind is worth the extra cost.

That's true, some ebay users are great, but if you have a problem what's envolved in getting warranty work done? Will you have to pay to ship it to them, or is it in house service?

Have you looked at Costco, or Sams Club? They have great service, and the prices they offer aren't bad.

Does everyone honestly think that getting an LCD off ebay is a bad idea? I don't think I can pass up on the price..

Costco has the viesonic 37" for 1299-200 (MIR). With their return policy I will go with them instead of ebay

I have the viewsonic 32inch LCD. I like it. Theres obviously better panels out there, but for the money, you cant do too much better. That westinghouse looks like a good deal too. It might be better to get that one and not have to deal with shipping it and all that stuff. Especially if those panels are refurbed or whatever as some on ebay are. It might be better to get a nice brand new LCD from a store nearby, so if you have problems you dont have to deal with return shipping and all that hastles. 2nd hand products could be a PITA to deal with.

We just picked up the Vizio 32" at Costco for $869. Shelf price was $999. I'll have to see if this is any good.

If the monitor goes bad, where are you going to take it for service? I purchased the 42" Sceptre (at Costco.com) that had a flickering ghost image. The local Costco took it back without any hassles. The only ViewSonic I see on Costco's site is a 37" with HD tuner for $1300.

BB is having a clear-out sale on some of the Sharp Aquos. 32" could cost somewheres to $1300.

The 37" Viewsonic at the Costco site shows:

$1500 - $200 = $1300.

The Costco $200 discount is not a Mail in Rebate but an instant coupon. If there is an additional $200 MIR the person who first mentioned it should provide a link otherwise people may think he mistook the Costco instant coupon as a MIR and or mis-read the Costco web page thinking the $200 was NOT reflected in the $1300 price.

QFT...I've been eyeing the 37" myself, can't afford it right off, but it's a beautiful picture, best I've seen on any LCD so far. Hell with ebay, wait for the right price on this one.

teh sharp aquos 45 inch lcd i saw in best buy is the best looking display i ever saw. and compared to 37 inch screens, well i'm willing to wait for it to drop in price to 1500-2000 before i buy one. it was sweet :D. i just hope they fix the pc issue so it displays full 1080p on the computer.

I've owned the 37" Westy since last December. I'm extreeeemely pleased with it, especially given what I paid (basically retail price on a Best Buy card w/no interest for a couple of years).

The only LCD's with a better overall quality are TWICE the price.
