about to buy this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16829102021 . But before I do I need to know if the Creative drives have improved. The biggest problem Ive read about is that the card will cut out after a few hours and the pc will need to be restarted to fix it. Did Creative fix this problem? I'll be using this card with Windows 7 64bit Pro

I've been building my own machines with Creative cards since the late '90s... I just installed a Creative X-Fi Platinum (with the 5-inch bay controller) in a new SB2500K machine with Win7x64 Ultimate. Never heard of the problem you describe. Yes, Creative will provide proper drivers... this isn't the early 2000's anymore...

I've been running one of those in my PCs for about 2-3yrs and haven't had that problem at all

No problems here with Win 7 x64 and I have that same soundcard minus the front drive bay accessory.

Have this exact same card only without the drive bay console, haven't had any issues with it although I am using custom PAX drivers by Robert McClelland. Although I never had any issues with the official drivers with this card of the X-Fi XtremeMusic PCI card I ran for like 5 years before I got this one.

I just jumped from a Xonar DG to a SB Creative Titanium(Thanks Black Friday) and it's been running flawlessly for a few days now, so no complaints here.
