I'm about to upgrade to a T-bird this week but i was wondering wich cpu i should get
either a t-bird cpu around 750Mhz and try to overclock it to 1000mhz or buy a straigh 1000mhz cpu.
I read at overclockers.com on their cpu database that the 750 t-bird had the best chance for hitting 1ghz. Is that true? Also where could i see pictures of the diferrent core for the t-bird cause i would like to see what those blue core (copper?) look like.
Also would my alpha pal6035 not shure if thats the right model thats on my celeron II fit on a T-Bird?

Also where could i find the best prices in canada?

Yes it is true I have built 10 systems in the last few month and used t-bird 750 on abit KT7 boards and they all did a gig and some of them did 1100 so get a 750 you will love it.

Renob may be onto something with the 750. I have tried several 800's and am getting 50% to 950 and the rest to 1GHz, or slightly over. I've been into a batch of really wild 1000's too, with many going over 1300MHz!

Yup, if you catch a copper 1000MHz chip, your chances for 1.2+ GHz are pretty good. Of course, everything 1100 and up is garuanteed to be copper, if you don't want to risk it. The system I just built uses a 1.1GHz T-Bird currently running at 1300. I say if the price difference is small, go for the better chip. Of course it all depends on your dfenition of small.

Get the gig, it's one of the best value-for-money T-birds at the moment, and you should get at least 1.1

How do you know if the 1Ghz chip is copper or not? I just ordered mine about 2 days ago, and it hasn't arrived, yet, but I am interested in how to determine whether it is copper or not. Also, if it is copper, does it mean it can overclock better?

Thanks
