About to buy a 21" LCD and HDTV Tuner Card

Hey everyone,

I'm about to buy a monitor and an HDTV tuner card.

I have about $960 to spend.

I am planning on getting the Samsung 213T 21" LCD Monitor $825 after shipping and Mail-In Rebate

That leaves me with 2 choices for my HDTV card:

ATI HDTV WONDER $132 after shipping

FusionHDTV 3 Gold ATSC/QAM Tuner Software Decoder $149 + shipping

Unfortunately, I haven't heard much great about either one of those tuners

Thus leaving me with my real dilemma.

One, I could still get 213T monitor and hold out for the MyHD PCI HDTV Tuner/Decoder card ($239 + shipping)

Or I could get the Dell 2005FPWfor my monitor instead, and get the MyHD card now.

What should I do?

Thanks,
skew

are you set on a lcd? a crt would be a better choice as it can do real hdtv resolutions. with a lcd your gonna get 720p, but with a crt you would get 1080

An LCD is really going to hold back the quality of HDTV. It's going to look way sharper and cleaner on a CRT. Although a 21" CRT is pretty huge and bulky.

That's true, but I figured if I couldn't deal with the ghosting/blurring on the samsung, I could always plug my crt back in.

HDTV noob here. Why would you only get 720p on a LCD?

I'm pretty sure it's because of the resolutions...i wish i knew them off hand...but it's late and i'm tired
