Well i think its about time to replace my big old 21' Sony CRT and would like to get a new LCD flat pannel. I play alot of games, do alot of work and even watch some movies on my main system where this monitor would be used and want something approx equiv to my 21' CRT Sony (screen size, visual quality, etc). My current system is a AMD 2700 with 9700 ALL-IN-Wonder Pro video card. Any recomendations would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

if you've got the cash, go for a 19" lcd that does 1600x1200. it should have the same screen area as your 21" crt. depending on who you talk to, samsung screens are the best. i haven't been impressed by the viewsonic screens that i've seen. one person told me that he finds the lg screens to be the best.

i have a samsung 171n that i'm very happy with, although it does have 2 dead pixels.

I can't agree with this. Last I checked, my 21" had 20" viewable, not 19"? Also, it's pretty much common knowledge CRTs are a lot better for gaming, and he says he games a lot. I'd replace it with another Sony 21" and enjoy the saved money while you don't have to worry about what resolution you run, ghosting, dead pixels, and less screen real estate.

Semantics here, but you know that ' is the symbol generally used for feet, and that " is generally used for inches.
