any specific tips on this?
i recently ordered these two. got my q6600 yesterday morning but didnt wake up in time, so now i gotta go to a purolator :(
and ordered the mobo recently as well.

i want to oc this to at least 3 ghz (if i get to 3 i'll be deliriously happy, and it'll be enuff. 3.2 or more is nirvana territory)

so basically i went over a few of these threads, and im getting the idea that if the stock cooling doesnt work, i gotta use an aftermarket fan. keep in mind im on a budget, so a fan thats 50 to 60 is pretty much the limit.
the best thing ive found so far is the following:
http://www.ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=17867

please respond with advice/hate/love/comments, but please at least have the mobo or the cpu yourself personally, preferably both, before giving recommendations.

many thanks.

one other question:
witha q6600/ds3r along with AF7+AS5, what kinda temp can i expect under full load?

Lower the multiplier and raise the fsb, your ram and motherboard can take it and it'll boost performance a little. The chip will reach its limit well before they do.

Tuniq 120 Will do the job easily, if the rest of your hardware is good, especially your MB and RAM, 3.0Ghz should be very simple, especially considering since you most likely got the new G0 stepping Q6600, I heard Ncix only ships those because they completely ran out of old B3. If that's so, even an Freezer 7 Pro will do the job just fine:

oh and buy some quality thermal paste too:

Good luck
